Matthew Hoerl

Co-founder, Executive DIRECTOR

Matthew grew up hearing stories about his grandfather who helped bring Wernher von Braun to the United States in Operation Paperclip. He never expected to someday work in space.

With a background in data archival, product management, and storytelling, Matt teamed up with Nova Spivack and Nick Slavin to found the Arch Mission Foundation to ensure no history is erased.

An entrepreneur and designer, Matt has been managing complex projects for over a decade. After winning multiple regional student Emmys as a young video journalist, Matt started his career in TV managing post-production on some of the top shows in the country, spent half a decade pioneering in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, then helped found The Arch Mission Foundation to archive humanity’s most important knowledge and disseminate it across space and time resulting in four successful space missions (and one moon landing) with SpaceX, Blue Origin, and SpaceIL. Most recently, he co-founded Mona, a metaverse publishing platform.
